Your Message is your Hook.

Your Story is your Bait

Your Audience are the Fishes

Your Environment is the Ocean/River

For you to grab the attention of and catch as many Fishes (AUDIENCE) as possible, your Hook (MESSAGE) must carry an enticing, captivating and irresistible Bait (STORY).

Stories are magical. They are like magnets, and pierce deep into the hearts of your audience and connects them to you.

It is what makes us tick.

A good story can help you explain an idea.

But a Great Story educates, entertains and ultimately fired-up your collective imagination.

Tell GREAT STORIES.

In writing, it is profound, so also in Business. Your customer does not want to know all the 200 features of your product.

Wrap your offer into a story that address their pain points with your solution and you’ve gained a true fan.

Don’t be too pumped to roll out data. Data is good but sadly our brain is not wired for too much data.

Stories TRUMP Data.

That is why Great Storytellers like Prophets and leaders like Steve Jobs, Richard Brandson and others use Storytelling to sell their audience on their ideas and products.

Airtel is a typical example of a company that has mastered the art of making great commercials. A Great commercial tells a complete story.

Storytelling is at the heart good marketing. Learn and master this, and you can create a movement or drive tons of sales from your product.

Always remember this:

If You Can’t Tell It. You Can’t Sell It.

To win a market share you must take your audience on an emotional journey.

What are you selling? Are you telling Great stories?

Story Story,

Story…

Once Upon A Time..

Time Time!

PS: Here is a 100-word essay on “I Know My Country” that qualified me represent Kwara State at the Nigeria Centenary National Quiz Competition in 2014.

Notice how I tell a story. Before I wrote it I was asking myself, “how do I capture the whole of Nigeria in just 100 words.”

I figured it out. I wrapped it in a story.

Here it is:👇

I KNOW MY COUNTRY

Undoubtedly, my country is the Giant of Africa. It is located in western Africa on the Gulf of Guinea and has a total area of 923,768 km2.

It is the most populated country in the African Continent and eleventh in the world with over 500 ethnic groups. In 1914 it was named after the River Niger when the northern and southern protectorates were amalgamated.

As she celebrates her centenary amidst communal strife, socio-political, religious and economic challenges, it remains one of the most peaceful place to live in the world. This great nation with good people, my country, is Nigeria.
